John Mayer - Vice President
John Mayer serves as the Vice President of Engineering Resource Associates (ERA). John has over 29 years of engineering experience and has worked for ERA for the last 18 years. During John’s time at ERA he has actively served as Project Manager and Lead Project Engineer for a wide variety of projects including streetscape, roadway, traffic signal, recreational, institutional, infrastructure and stormwater projects for local municipalities, counties, and state agencies throughout Illinois.
John has specialized design expertise in traffic signal, roadway geometrics, street lighting, and streetscape project he manages. He has extensive experience with various state and federal funding sources including: ARRA, ITEP, MFT, AASHTO, CMAP, STP, CMAQ, TCM and OSLAD funds.
John frequently speaks at the Annual IAPD/IPRA Conference and at the IAFSM conference. He is an active member of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Southwest Branch, Illinois Association for Floodplain and Stormwater Management (IAFSM), the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) and the US Green Building Council (USGBC). He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1986.
John resides in Plainfield, Illinois with his wife, Sue. His four children are young adults now and he loves to keep busy by staying involved in each of their active lives and taking family trips to their cabin in Wisconsin. He continues to cheer for the Packers and hold onto his cheesehead roots. On occasion some have even detected his Wisconsin dialect! Ya hey dar.
