ERA assessed the West Branch DuPage River through the Villages of Hanover Park and Schaumburg. ERA completed Phase I design which included hydraulic analysis for the replacement of the Springinsguth Culvert to eliminate the approximate 1.0 ft head loss. ERA utilized the MWRD unsteady HEC-RAS modeling as the basis to provide additional analysis of the Springinsguth culvert. The project was awarded $1.6 million in Green infrastructure Opportunity (GIGO) funding. ERA also applied for MWRD partnership funding and the project was awarded $1.25 million. The project also received $412,000 in Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) funds. ERA provided Phase II design and permitting services for the project. Permits acquired included: USACE, IDNR-OWR, IEPA Individual 401 Water Quality Certification, MWRD, North Cook SWCD, and Villages of Schaumburg and Hanover Park.
