ERA provided Phase I and II engineering services for the replacement of the dual cast-in-place (CIP) culvert (SN 056-3202) carrying Kishwaukee Valley Road over a Tributary of Rush Creek with a single-span CIP slab bridge using federal funds. The Phase I engineering consisted of a Bridge Condition Report (BCR), Hydraulic Report, Environmental Survey Request (ESR) and Wetland Impact Plan, TS&L, Project Development Report (PDR), and Plats & Legals. Improvements required raising the roadway to meet 1 ft of clearance over the 30-year flood elevation. Phase II engineering services included utility coordination, permitting, design plans, specifications, cost estimates and time of construction. Permits were obtained from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, McHenry-Lake County Soil and Water Conservation District, McHenry County Planning and Development, and Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT). Construction was completed under a detour utilizing IDOT routes and the bridge was reopened to traffic in November 2021.
