ERA has been contracted to complete Phase I and II engineering for the Wolfe Wildlife trail project, which aims to enhance the bike connection through the park to the high school. Currently, an 8-foot HMA path crosses Stony Creek but terminates at Harold Richards High School. To proposed design involves widening the path to a 10-foot multi-use path throughout the park, improving accessibility and connecting it to the High School. Despite challenges posed by the floodplain/floodway limits of stony creek and wetlands, compensatory storage areas have been designed to comply with IDNR-OWR requirements. The project does involve complex permitting involving IDNR-OWR, USACOE, IDOT, Oak Lawn School District, Cook County, and MWRD. Through a collaborative effort, compliance with regulations was ensured, and ITEP funding was secured for both engineering and construction.
