ERA provided Phase II Design Services and Phase III Construction Engineering Services for the watermain replacement of approximately 3,600 feet of watermain along Park Boulevard south of Roosevelt Road. Park Boulevard is a heavily traveled four lane road serving the Police Station, Golf Course, elementary school, and the western entrance to the College of DuPage. The project required significant coordination with the public works department, residents, and private businesses to maintain access and service during construction. The design called for the new watermain to be located in the outside lane to allow traffic to continue without the need for a detour. New water service lines were installed to all residences, along with new hydrant spacing. ERA handled all documentation and payment throughout the project, as well as providing redline documents to Glen Ellyn for As-Built Drawings. A special focus was taken to minimize water shutoffs to accommodate stay-at-home and work-from-home orders in residential areas.
