ERA provided construction engineering services, including construction observation, measurement and documentation of quantities, and preparation of pay requests for bridge and trail construction using federal funds. The 4,100-foot trail extends from the Sycamore Forest Preserve across the Kishwaukee River to Old Mill Park near downtown Sycamore. The project features a 200-foot steel truss pedestrian bridge, two timber bridges, and 130 feet of timber boardwalk. Specific tasks associated with construction observation included extensive tree removal oversight, pile driving oversight, abutment and approach slab inspection, timber boardwalk inspection, storm sewer installation, and HMA paving.
