ERA will provide design engineering services for the Winfield Riverwalk's Second Phase
WINFIELD, Ill. – Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) was selected by the Village of Winfield and the Winfield Riverwalk Committee to provide professional engineering services for the Winfield Riverwalk - Second Phase Design Engineering project. The second phase will include a brick paver and concrete trail, a new pond, a new naturalized stormwater detention area, a retaining wall, a water fountain, a plaza overlooking the pond, four themed gardens, ornamental lighting, landscaping and streetscape elements. ERA will prepare final engineering plans, specifications and estimates, and assist in pursuing additional funding sources.
In 2007, ERA teamed with Gary R. Weber and Associates, Inc. to prepare a Design Development Report with the purpose of establishing a preliminary alignment for the Winfield Riverwalk. Our staff has extensive Riverwalk experience including active and passive recreation amenities, development within floodplain and floodway areas, stormwater and floodplain development permitting through DuPage County, and unique structural designs in areas where unsuitable soils exist. ERA's project team established the approximate location of floodplains, wetlands, and other environmentally-sensitive areas; identified permitting requirements; and provided estimated construction costs.
