ERA selected to provide design and construction engineering services to address existing pavement failure on Northbrook’s Revere Drive

NORTHBROOK, Ill. - Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) was selected to provide design and construction engineering services on a reconstruction project within the village’s commercial business district to address existing pavement failure on Northbrook’s Revere Drive. As part of the project, ERA provided value engineering to determine which type of pavement: hot-mix asphalt or concrete would be a more cost effective option for the Village.

A specific, high-profile project challenge that ERA and its client had to overcome addressed the need to provide access at all times to multiple businesses that front the roadway as well as a community and children’s center at the south-end of the street where Revere Drive terminates in a cul-de-sac. Additionally, to successfully undertake the project, close coordination with the Cook County Highway Department was required to ensure the proper removal and replacement of existing detector loops at the intersection of Lake-Cook Road and Revere Drive.

During the entire duration of the project, ERA continues to work closely with Village personnel to keep business owners informed on progress throughout the project’s course. Technical expertise, close coordination with other public agencies and departments, and ongoing communication with affected stakeholders greatly helped ERA successfully deliver a project with the results the Village of Northbrook expected.
