ERA provided services in the much-publicized preservation of a well-known historic landmark in the Village of Hinsdale
HINSDALE, Ill. - Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) recently provided services in the much-publicized preservation of a well-known historic landmark in the Village of Hinsdale. Widely known as the “Zook Residence”, architect R. Harold Zook’s 1924 home at 327 S. Oak Street was recently purchased by a developer with the intent of demolishing it and replacing it with a brand-new residence. After being officially recognized as a landmark and placed on the 2005 Endangered Landmark List, local action was taken to preserve the home by cutting it into several pieces and re-locating it to Hinsdale’s KLM Park. ERA provided site engineering and construction survey services throughout the entire process, including measuring the existing home’s foundation so that an exact replica could be reconstructed on the new park site.
