ERA Presented at IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights Conference
CHICAGO – ERA's Director of Structural Engineering, John Frauenhoffer, PE, SE, presented at the 2012 IAPD/IPRA Soaring to New Heights conference. His session, Starved Rock: Boardwalks and Platforms, highlighted a series of boardwalks and platforms that he developed for Starved Rock that provided an erosion control solution, improved pedestrian traffic, and addressed safety concerns on the park's trails. ERA Celebrates the Grand Opening of Plainfield Park District's DuPage River Trail
PLAINFIELD, Ill. – Engineering Resource Associates, Inc. (ERA) celebrated the grand opening of the Plainfield Park District's DuPage River Trail on Wednesday, October 12 at Riverview Park. ERA staff joined representatives from the Plainfield Park District and Dunnet Bay Construction as the new section of trail was formally opened to the community. ERA provided design engineering, land surveying and construction engineering services for the 3/4 mile, 10-foot wide asphalt trail including a 150-foot prefabricated bridge crossing the DuPage River and two box culverts crossing the East and West Norman Drains. The project required coordination with USACE, IDNR/OWR, IDOT, FHWA and the Village of Plainfield. Funding was provided by local, various state, and federal funds (HPP, ITEP, SAFETEA-LU and ARRA).
